What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)?
As a CCRC, Westminster at Lake Ridge offers a carefree lifestyle in Independent Living, while offering Assisted Living, nursing care and rehabilitation in the Health Center. This continuum of care is unique to a CCRC, offering lifetime residence and nursing care all under one roof.

Who owns Westminster at Lake Ridge?
Established in 1993, Westminster at Lake Ridge is an independent not for profit community that is operated by the Westminster Presbyterian Retirement Community, Inc. Westminster at Lake Ridge is a 501 (c) 3 corporation governed by a Board of Directors that consists of professional and business leaders in the greater Washington metropolitan area.

Is Westminster at Lake Ridge accredited?
Yes. The Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) accredited Westminster at Lake Ridge in 1997. This voluntary accreditation demonstrates our commitment to meeting national standards of excellence.
Westminster at Lake Ridge undergoes a rigorous review process to maintain this accreditation.
In addition, each year an updated, detailed disclosure statement is submitted to the Commonwealth of Virginia State Corporation Commission.

Tell me more about the residences. May I personalize my home there?
Yes, you may decorate and furnish your apartment in the colors and styles that suit your taste. We offer many options and upgrades to personalize your home. All residences have individually controlled heating and air conditioning; sound insulated walls and fireproof construction with smoke detectors and sprinklers. Each home is equipped with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer.

What kind of fees do residents pay?
There is a one-time entrance fee and then monthly fees. Both fees vary depending on the size of the residence and refund option selected.

What is included in the monthly fee?
The monthly fee at Westminster at Lake Ridge lets you enjoy one meal per day in the dining room, all utilities, including basic cable, weekly housekeeping, full maintenance of residences, appliances and common areas. Landscaping and grounds maintenance, security and 24-hour emergency medical alert system as well as social, educational, cultural, spiritual and recreational programs are provided.
An additional monthly charge is added for a second person occupying the residence.

Are additional services available to residents?
Yes. Services and programs available for an additional cost include guest meals, certain transportation, beauty salon services, catering for parties and more.

What kinds of amenities are offered?
Westminster at Lake Ridge offers an indoor swimming pool and a fitness room with certified instructors, guest room and cottage for visitors, woodworking shop, computer lab with high speed Internet access, game room, full service bank, library, and a Chapel with interdenominational services.

What’s available?
Westminster offers a variety of activities in which residents can participate. Residents can stay active in Council Committees such as the Finance Committee, Dining Services Committee, and the Landscaping Committee. There are also special interest groups, like the theater arts group known as the Westphalians, the choir known as the Westminstrels, the famous Kitchen Band, the Investment Club, and the Woodworking Group.

Yes. Westminster at Lake Ridge has an active resident association, with all residents sharing a common interest in promoting and maintaining an enjoyable, active, constructive, healthful and secure community lifestyle.

How do I become a resident?
Westminster at Lake Ridge offers Premiere Club membership by submitting an application along with a refundable deposit of $3,000 and a $500 application fee. Premiere Club members are at the top of the list to choose the perfect cottage or apartment. There is also the option of a $1,000 fully refundable deposit.
Prospective residents will also be asked to submit the past five years of their medical history and have a consultation visit with our staff doctor.

Where is Lake Ridge? I can’t find it on any map!
Lake Ridge, Virginia, is located in Woodbridge, Virginia. Woodbridge is 15 miles south of Alexandria, VA and 30 miles north of Fredericksburg, VA, conveniently located off Interstate 95. We are close to the military bases of Fort Belvoir and Quantico. The area is rich in history, from the Civil War battlefield at Manassas to the newly opened national Museum of the Marine Corps.
